Hi,

I am using Thunderbird 115.8.1 on Linux Mint 21.3 with Cinnamon desktop.

I am having difficulties to spot new messages as they sometimes look very similar. Sometimes the message subject has blue color, but sometimes, it is only printed in bold and bold and regular letters look very similar with this font (see image).

I followed the steps in this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1426183 However, this has absolutely no effect.

~/.thunderbird/k5v0nfyc.default-release/chrome$ cat userChrome.css /*

* Do not remove the @namespace line -- it's required for correct functioning
*/

@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* set default namespace to XUL */

/* threads pane unread bg colour */

  1. threadTree tr[data-properties~="unread"] {background-color:pink !important;}

Thanks in advance for your help.

Okay, modify this as you desire:

/* ###### Set colour of unread in thread pane/message list */
#threadTree tbody [data-properties~="unread"] {
color: #0000ff !important; font-style: italic !important; font-weight: bold !important;
background-color: pink !important;
 }

Place a # immediately to the left of threadtree and see if that works. And remove the 1.

There is in fact a hash. Apparently, the forum software replaces hashes with paragraph numbering.

Thanks. It is working now. Problem was that some Thunderbird processes keep running, when you close the application from the GUI.
