When I try to watch a video on a trusted site my computer freezes and the fans kick on over time. I can watch it on safari and google chrome with no problem. I have been using this academic website for months and just recently all videos are unwatchable when using firefox. As soon as I click play activity monitor on mac shows that firefox is consuming 99% of my CPU. I have tried googling solutions and have been unsuccessful. Please help!

Hello,
One of the settings changes may be the cause of this. Can you go to options>Help>Restart with addons disabled.

If you don't have any addons installed I would suggest to Options>Help>Troubleshooting info>Refresh firefox. (keep in mind that this option will reset your firefox to default settings.
