We use Thunderbird to send HTML emails to our clients using the "Insert" and then "HTML" into the body of the email. It works beautifully on one Mac at our office, automatically displaying the image when I view it in Apple Mail or any other mail application. Also works perfectly for my client. When I try the same process from my own computer, using the same version of softwares for both Apple Mail and Thunderbird, we have to click “Load Remote Content” in apple mail in order to see it and my client doesn't want to have to do that for these large mailings.

I’ve compared the preferences in Thunderbird on both machines and they match identically. Why would this happen?

because email htmls are a conduit for sending malware, i suggest to send your clients plain text with a link to the html webpage.

text messages are not only safer but quicker and cheaper on data rate charges.

We are emailing these images, not texting. Client needs the image to appear automatically in email, instead gets a red x on her end and I have to click load remote content to get it to appear. However, when sending from our other computer, it works perfectly.

The appearance or otherwise of remote images is a setting in options. as the sender you have zero control of the display of remote images to your recipients. They may choose to see remote images or they may not. Interestingly when you look at mail client usage statistics they always contain a disclaimer about the fact that certain mail clients (Thunderbird for one) are under represented as they do not load remote images by default.

That all makes perfect sense, except for my client can see it perfectly from one "Computer A" at my office, just not mine. Her settings have stayed the same and when I send the email from "Computer A," she can see it. When I send the same file from mine, she gets a red x.

Just check that the computer that is not working has the same settings as the one that works. Maybe you have once "allowed all HTML content " and "don't ask me again" so that computer will not ask you and just show the content.

I don't know Apple Mail or have a working install to see which options you have.

Another thing. If the sending address is in the list of "safe addresses" or the address book of the recipient, maybe it shows content automatically.

Even if it is yourself.

For example I have a signature in my e-mail It has 3 little images for the company logo, the Skype logo and the Blogger logo. Instead of attaching them they are links to my company site.

Previous versions of TB automatically showed them. No questions. Latest ones, when I select the e-mail I see everything but the images in the signature and have to press a Show Content button in order to see them.
