Thunderbird v31.4.0 Linux Mint Debian Edition 3.1.2-amd64 Cinnamon 2.0.14

When clicking on a link within an email, the system crashes and the monitor display displays jagged, diagonal lines. A cold boot is required. This can be repeated.

Same results running in Safe Mode.

Any ideas?

That did the trick!

A side note:

gfx.direct2d.disabled was not already listed in config so added the listing.
