You can try to delete the address book from your file system. In Thunderbird go to Help -> Troubleshooting Information and then click on the Show Folder button in the Application Basics section.

Then you have to find which address book you want to delete. Go to Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> Config editor... and search for ldap_2.servers. Now look which address book has the right description and note its filename.

Then it's best to close Thunderbird before continuing to go to your explorer. In the explorer you'll see files named *.mab, which are the files containing your address books. Find the one you just looked up and rename it to [abook].mab.bak.

Start Thunderbird and verify that you still have all your other address books before permanently removing the file... You might also have to remove the now empty address book from the Address Book window.

What do you mean by saying the address book has stopped responding? Do you mean that auto-completion is now very slow? That might also be due to a bug in Thunderbird. A lot has changed in relation to address book completion behind the scenes in TB31...

If your address book does work, you can open it with Ctrl+Shift+B or via the menu Tools -> Address Book, select the imported Outlook address book and press the Delete button...

Thank you for taking the time to reply. The Address Book opens and I can go to my Personal Address Book HOWEVER when I place the cursor over the imported Personal Folders file it stops working so I can't delete anything through the delete button. Also I cannot send emails as it will not allow input of address !!! Any suggestions ..

Hell sorry for the delay I've had to work ! I have done that and changed the .mab file as directed to the one that I think is the Personal Folders one. All the Address books are still there. How do I permanently delete the Personal Folders ? Thanks
