First try with v.29 was full of problems so I went back to v.28. Is there a later v29?

I keep getting "offered" the upgrade back to v.29. I surely want to do that but not until or unless there's been some change in the past ten days.

Among the problems I had were lack of ability to move among tabs, sluggish operation, links not uh.. linking.

I don't know what date the current 29.0.1 (I think) came out. Is it newer than May 11?

I'm pretty sure I know the (negative) answer to this but - is it possible to install both 28 and 29 on the same machine?

Also, do I cause any issues/problems if I use a portable v.29 on a PC with v.28 installed?

Thanks much for the help.

The release date is listed in the release notes, along with all notable changes.

It is, but that's best left to advanced users. In a nutshell, it involves three things:

  1. The different versions of Firefox must be installed in separate folders.
  2. You must use the Profile Manager to create separate profiles for the different versions.
  3. You must create separate shortcuts to launch the different versions, and append a space followed by -p ProfileName -no-remote at the end of the Target line, so that it reads something like
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p fx29 -no-remote

Using Firefox Portable Edition is a good idea. It has its own separate profile, so it won't affect your regular Firefox data or add-ons.
