I am using version 13.0.1. The page below has instructions on how to reset Firefox. http://blog.mozilla.org/theden/2012/06/13/resetfirefox/

It says to go to "Troubleshooting Information" under the Help menu and that there will be a button to push called "Reset Firefox." But when I go to the Troubleshooting Information page there is no Reset Firefox button. I tried it on a few different computers and it is always the same.

Do you know where I can find it?

That is a new feature in Firefox 14.0.1.

That is odd. If you download Firefox 14, does the Reset button show up there?

No, I just downloaded the update and there is no change.

Any chance your Profile is in a non-default location? Or you are using other than the default Profile?

I wonder whether new malware could be blocking the button?

How would I know if it were in another location? I have never done anything with my profile.

I am using Firefox Portable. Could that have something to do with it?

Yes it is due to you using the portable Firefox version.

I'm on Ubuntu platform. Also there's no reset button nor Windows 8 or Windows 7.

mbader, Do you have multiple profiles and are you bypassing the Profile Manager? If so, start the Profile Manager (explained here), select the name of the profile you want to reset, then start Firefox with that profile and try again.

When multiple profiles exist, the "Reset Firefox" option is only available in the "default" profile (e.g., the last profile started in the Profile Manager, which would be the profile that includes the line "Default=1" in the profiles.ini file). This option does not appear if you bypass the Profile Manager to start a non-default profile.

You normally only see the button to reset Firefox if you've started Firefox with the profile that is marked as Default=1 in the profiles.ini file.

If you have multiple profiles and/or Firefox versions and use a desktop shortcut to start with a specific profile then you won't see the reset button.

Thank you for your fast reply. A great community for the greatest browser. Problem solved on Windows but not on Linux. Only Firefox trunk doesn't have but default build has a reset button.
