Whenever I open Firefox I hear the "theme song" and it drowns out any other audio from video clips, etc. How do I turn off that annoying theme song?

That ain't a part of Firefox, which has one sound for the Quick Find bar. Sounds like a dose of Malware on your PC.

Install, update, and run these programs in this order. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode" - but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have. (Not all programs detect the same Malware.)

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php SuperAntispyware - http://www.superantispyware.com/ AdAware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ Spybot Search & Destroy - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

If these don't find it or can't clear it, post in one of these forums for specialized malware removal help: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/index.php http://forum.aumha.org/ http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/ http://bleepingcomputer.com --- Also, Java Plug-in 1.4.2_03 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper) you currently have installed is too old for Firefox 3.6+ versions. Plus it has many security flaws. You need Java 1.6.0_15 or higher to get the Next Generation Plugin that Firefox 3.6+ versions need. 1.6.0_20 is the latest version of Java. Remove your current version and install the latest. http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp Make sure you read the download boxes carefully and de-select anything besides the basic Java program download, so you don't get a "surprise", like an un-asked for Toolbar or Search Bar.
