Hi,

I installed FiltaQuilla to save all incoming emails and attachments automatically to 2 different directories: C:\EMAILS for the .eml files and C:\ATTACH for the attachments. That process works perfectly but I have no way to know which attachments are associated with which .eml file. Is there any option in FiltaQuilla to add a unique prefix to the .eml filename and the attachment filename from that email so I know that two files are from the same email?

I don't know of a way to tag the eml file with the attachment names, but note that the attachments are embedded in the eml file, so opening it will display the attachments the same as in the original message.

I appreciate the response but the challenge is that that attacments coming into my email have all the same name and here-in lies the challenge.

If all attachments have the same name, I think the best option at the moment is to just save the eml files with their embedded attachments, and save or detach them manually, and add 'From <xxxx>' to the name.

You're looking for a level of automation that I doubt is available in any mail client.

Fair enough. One last question. I know with FiltaQuilla there is a way to launch an EXE when an email is received. Would that happen after the filter execution where the email has been saved as an EML and the attachment saved in the directory? Also, if multiple emails are received, would the EXE launch sequentially or can it happen in parallel ?

Thanks.

Saving the message and attachment shouldn't affect the original message, so I expect (haven't tried it) a subsequent filter action will perform as configured, and the same for consecutive messages. The instructions for Run Program are here.

One last question and thank you for being patient with me. If I put in a filter to save the email as an EML file and save the attachement and also enable the Launch Program in the filter. Will the Launch Program execute after the EML and attachments are saved or before?

Thanks

A few simple tests should reveal the outcome. Filters are executed in the order in which they're listed in the Message Filters window, or in the order of filter actions for a single filter. Since in this case the original message isn't moved to another folder, there shouldn't be any conflict between the actions.
