I am trying to install widevine, but it is stuck on "Widevine Content Decryption Module (...) will be installed shortly." - how do I solve this?

After updating Firefox to the newest version, I have found that it will not play Netflix videos because the Silverlight plugin is no longer supported. I have tried everything from toggling the DRM to uninstalling and re-installing Firefox, dowloading the extended package. It is now stuck on Widevine Content Decryption Module (...) will be installed shortly.

I am using a MacBook Pro, so any Windows solution naturally won't work.

Try to toggle DRM off/on to see if that makes Firefox (re)load DRM components.

Does the Browser Console show that Firefox tries to retrieve the Widevine plugin?
