This mostly happens on forums where users can embed images.

I tested with another browser, images were visible. Screenshot attached I copied editor code, this should work:

Solved. Privacy Badger was causing this, I had blocked Imgur.

No change, I also restarted my browser.

One possibility:

Is the forum a secure (HTTPS) site? If you have blocked mixed "display" content on secure sites, then images on HTTP URLs will not be retrieved. But since you generally need to use about:config to make this change, it might not apply to you.

Solved. Privacy Badger was causing this, I had blocked Imgur.
