A new tab suddenly opens. The address on the tab reads "redirected to something or another" before the page loads. Windows was recently showing a message that Firefox was "blocking something or another" and I okayed to stop blocking. Since then....mystery sites. Thanks, Bob

Chosen solution

First, you are running an extremely out of Date version of Firefox, please update to Firefox 11 to get all the most recent security fixes.

Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Download and Run TDSSKiller http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363

Download and Install Microsoft Security Essentials http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials (not an official endorsement, but I personally recommend MSE as an awesome permanent anti-virus)

Double check for all Windows Updates.

Then, Start Firefox up in Safe Mode to see if it is a faulty extension causing the problem.
