Once I sync Firefox from 1 computer to another, can I wipe either computer clean without harming Firefox and all my setting on the other?

I just bought a laptop and moved all of my files from my existing desktop to it. I used Firefox Sync tomigrate my favorite places, etc. in Firefox from the old to the new computer. My question is, once this has been done, can I decommssion the old computer without any problem to the new one?

Yes, you can decommission the old computer without causing any problems on the new one. If you just stop using your old computer, and erase its hard drive, it will not affect your new computer at all.

(But if you run Firefox on the old computer and start deleting bookmarks while it's still connected to your sync account, this could cause bookmarks to be deleted on your new computer too -- so don't do that. If you want to keep using Firefox on the old computer, disconnect it from your sync account first.)

Regardless of whether you are using Firefox Sync, you should always make sure that any important data on your computers is backed up just in case. See Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles for help backing up Firefox bookmarks and settings.
