How do I change my default from never asking me to remember a password to always ask me to remember a password?

When I first set up Firefox I opted to never be asked to remember a password. I changed my mind and tried selecting it in the Options-Security menu but that did nothing. I want Firefox to go back to asking me to remember passwords.

  • Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Remember passwords for sites"

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
