Could you try this way:

Android Settings > Apps > Choose default apps

One of the options is Browser app

You should be able to choose Firefox there

Does that work?

I've seen some apps that do not send links to Firefox directly but instead open an embedded browser tab. Usually the app will have a setting to turn that off.
