How do I end automatically checking for new messages
Dear users,
Because of efficiency, I want to end automatically checking for new messages in Thunderbird. I opt-out for the option to automatically update my inbox every X minutes or when I start the program. But Thunderbird is still updating my inbox after I have send a message to someone. I hope you can help!
Kind regards, Maarten

This happens when the account is IMAP and the server supports PUSH notifications, i.e. notification in TB occurs as soon as the message arrives at the mail server. The only way to avoid this is to go offline from File/Offline/Work Offline, or click the icon at the left end of the Status Bar.
