Firefox is using a large amount of battery while idle. You can see my app runs open a lot of the day, but not in use much. It has drained 20 percent of one days battery, and I am watching YouTube videos on another app (Grayjay btw check it out!) and it has used far less battery. If I set Firefox into a sleeping state, the app still drains a lot of battery. When in deep sleep,it stops draining as much power, but then Android keeps auto pushing their own browser to be my primary browser. I'm not sure what to do in this case, as it's too much of a hassle to have links not auto open in Firefox when in deep sleep. This excessive battery drain doesn't make sense, and I was wondering if there was any fix for this. Thanks for taking the time.

Hi Everyone from Community,

I've been experiencing significant battery drain with Firefox on my Android device, even when the app is idle. Despite having Firefox open for most of the day but not actively using it, it consumed 20% of my battery in one day. In comparison, I've been using another app, Grayjay, for watching YouTube videos, and it uses far less battery.

I've tried setting Firefox into a sleeping state, but it continues to drain a lot of battery. The only time the battery drain reduces significantly is when I put Firefox into a deep sleep. However, this comes with the inconvenience of Android frequently pushing its own browser to become the default, causing issues with links not opening automatically in Firefox.

Has anyone else faced a similar issue? Any suggestions on how to manage this better?

By the way, you might want to check out Honista Premium. It's a great app that could help manage your battery usage more effectively. Give it a try and see if it makes a difference for you.

Thanks!!!
