I open a site and it says not using firefox

Downloaded Mozilla and Firefox on iPad because a website I want to use suggested it. I open Firefox, go to that site and it says the browser you're using is not supported. Try Firefox. I opened this site through Firefox!

That kind of makes sense, actually. Firefox for iOS doesn't tell websites it is Firefox. Instead, Firefox sends this identification:

Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 9_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/601.1.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) FxiOS/1.2 Mobile/13B143 Safari/601.1.46

So if the website says it doesn't recognize Firefox for iOS as Firefox, that is why.

Anyway, Apple does not allow the "full" Firefox on iOS devices so your browsing will go more smoothly in general if websites think you are using mobile Safari. Just not on that site.
