Yesterday, midday, my sent file stopped storing new messages after years of flawless service

I have tried: - closing TB and shutting down laptop and restarting

Under Account Settings> Copies and Folders: unclicking "place a copy in" doing a test and then reclicking "place a copy in" (directed to sent folder)

FWIW: 1.only thing I have done differently lately is create a Template

           2. Sent folder works fine on my on-line email ( I normally work with storing locally on my MacBook Air) but on-line email is not TB so likely irrelevant

I would like to customize styling for recurring events in Calendar (115.11.1 on MacOS) without using extensions/add-ons. I enabled userChrome.css (`toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets`) and the “has:” selector (`layout.css.has-selector.enabled`). In my userChrome.css, I added styles:

   li:has([alt*="Recurring"]) { background-color:grey !important; padding:1rem !important; }
   li:has(*[alt*="Recurring"]) { background-color:yellow !important; padding:1rem !important; }

Unfortunately, this seems to have no effect upon restarting Thunderbird. However, when I open Developer Toolbox (`Tools > Developer Toolbox > Developer Toolbox > Inspector` tab) suddenly everything works and the stylesheets are applied, but only until Thunderbird is shut down. Weirdly, other custom styles in userChrome.css work ok.

Is this intended behavior or a bug?

Hello,

I work in a company and we are using Thunderbird for emails. The way me and my coworkers work is that we solving emails we get. BUT. There are two people always here on emails. One of them is taking ODD emails, the second one EVEN. For example I'm the ODD one, so every email that comes in odd time for example 8:31, 8:43, 8:47 etc., are mine and the other person who is EVEN one have emails like 8:30, 8:40, 8:52 etc. So if I make 2 folders one will be called EVEN and the other one ODD is there some way to filter these emails by time?

Thanks for your help and answers

Subfolders Expanding Too Quickly On Mouse Hover Over Main Folder *Still* A Problem

I saw a past thread claiming this problem has been fixed, but it definitely has not been fixed when it comes to dragging and dropping emails into a main folder.

Subfolders expanding (when hovering to drop/move an email) should be timed longer, and we need flexibility to time how many seconds it takes.

We need a way to set the timing of the expansion to only happen after 'x' seconds so we can manually adjust the timing.

Please fix this. It is really irritating and time consuming to have to constantly reclose subfolders.

thanks

I maintain a "Favorites" folder view as those are the folders I use 95% of the time and I have a very large number of historical folders I need to keep around but don't need very often. Trouble is, when I create a new folder, the creation dialog doesn't offer the option to make the folder a favorite so that it disappears after creation. I have to switch to the "ALL folders" view and then right click on the new folder and check the "favorite" box and then go back to favorites view.

It would make life so much easier if there was a favorite checkbox on the creation dialog.

Thank you.

I have my inboxes set to display new messages at the top. When I open an inbox, Thunderbird scrolls to SHOW new messages, highlighted in bold, at the top. Or it used to.

Recently this behavior has become inconsistent. When I look at Thunderbird, one of my inboxes may show that there are new messages. So I click on the inbox, but no new messages appear in my list of e-mails. I then have to manually scroll up to see them.

Something definitely changed here.

I can see the case where maybe I've selected an old e-mail message WAAAY down the list. In that case Thunderbird should probably open to that point. Usually, if a message is selected, it's near the top. If that message AND newly arrived messages can be displayed on the same page, Thunderbird should scroll to the top and show me new messages.

Is this a setting that can be set?

Is there a way to schedule a time (daily or weekly) during which Thunderbird doesn't check for new mail?

I have several mail accounts, some for work, some private. I want Thunderbird checking for new mail on my work accounts during my work hours, and pause checking when I get off work. I don't want Thunderbird to check my private mail while I'm at work (or specifically, up until an hour before the end of my workday).

Eg. I'd like to "tell" Thunderbird to check my work account monday to friday from 8am to 5pm, and my private account every workday from 4pm to 8am and every weekend all day. Ideally, clicking on "get new mail" would only fetch mail for the currently unpaused accounts.

I don't want to have to manually pause checking for messages for each account several times a day.

The "check for new messages every ___ minutes" doesn't help.

Disabling notifications isn't a solution - I need the messages (especially work messages) not to be downloaded from the server (or receive notification that there's mail waiting). I'm looking to "disconnect" from work while keeping up to speed with my private communications.

This topic was closed but the Bug was never fixed for Mac. The problem is, sometimes a spelling is correct as intended or not, depending upon its context in the email body. But the Spell Check Window covers that up as it blocks the middle of the email body.

It can't be moved in Thunderbird for Mac.

A previous post - now archived - suggested a left click on the (spell check?) window title area would allow moving the window. But that only works on ... Windows ... because it certainly does NOT work on a Mac. No click-drag, left or right, resulted in un-anchoring the spell check window from the center of the email body.

One example is when I used the word Add-ons. The spell check stopped at "ons", wanting to correct it to "one". If "ons" was by itself, I could see that. But I couldn't know that it referred to "ons" from Add-ons because the spell-check window covered that text.

Blocking remote content by default is a very positive security feature. But needing to add each and every email address individually is NOT optimum and wastes a lot of time. We really need a method to globally allow remote content from specified domains. For instance, it would be handy to allow remote content from any/all email from IBM, but I certainly don't want this for gmail.com addresses. This seems like a very simple improvement to code.

This has probably already been asked, but I can't find anything related to it. Ebay sends email from members that looks like "randomxyz@members.ebay.com". I would like to add the domain "members.email.com" so email from ANY member will be whitelisted and have remote content displayed. If this is possible, how do I set it up? Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for a message filter function that will wait a specified period of time before performing what the rest of the filter does whatever it is tasked to do. For instance, I want to have an incoming message sit in the inbox until it moves to a local folder some time later. This would allow me to see it from a device that can't see local folders (like a mobile phone). I can't find anything in extensions. Any thoughts?

I've installed TBSync with Thunderbird and my O365 calendar is now syncing.

However, my email subfolders are not fully updating.

I have a # of subfolders I've created in O365 but they aren't appearing in TBSync in order to choose them to sync in Thunderbird. I am getting some (what I would call 'standard') subfolders in TBSync to choose such as Contact, Calendar, Tasks, and some other email accounts I have 'sync'd' into O365, but none of the actual email subfolders for the O365 account itself (i.e. 2024 Financials).

In Thunderbird, the only folders I see to sync (Synchronization & Storage > Advanced)are: Inbox, Draft, Sent, and Trash

What am I doing wrong or missing?
