I just downloaded and installed Thunderbird.... I fire it up and the "three lines" button I need to click to add my email account details does nothing. So the software is not doing much at the moment. I don't know what to do. I uninstalled. Restarted...and reinstalled...but this did not work. What am I doing wrong here?

I'm trying to change my signature on an account I've had for sometime. It lets me make the changes I want and when I try sending a message it works fine. However when I close Thunderbird down and re open it, the signature has reverted to the previous version. I can't see any option to save the changes to the account settings so they'll still be there next time.

I've tried it 2 ways - firstly editing the HTML signature text, and secondly attaching instead a signature file. In both cases it works fine until I close and re-open.

Yahoo Mail was down for HOURS last night. When it comes back up overnight, I can login to my secondary emails (Yahoo.com) but the correct password for rshearin@verizon.net responds "server error"

Yahoo washes their hands of it because it's a "third party app."

On powering up my PC this morning, opened Thunderbird and everything was gone - email settings to my various accounts, settings, calendar, addresses etc nothing is left at all

All I have is a basic screen : "To set up your existing email address" etc

We don't know our password. We are not receiving emails. We have searched our password and it has confirmed it as the same we have written down. However, this does not work. Where do we go from here?

Thunderbird is blocking some outgoing mail. If I start with a file, right click, send to mail recipient; the message is blocked as spam with this diagnostic: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Spam detected by content scanner. Message rejected (ID 6661B68A00783926). Please check the message and try again.

But, if I start with Thunderbird Write and attach the same file, there are no problems and the message is sent.

I recently got a new PC with WINDOWS 10 and loaded Thunderbird to pick up my email. However, now the mail client keeps making new profile folders, which I keep trying to delete. I am up to 6 now. THey are all in my deleted section of my Local Folders. How do I remove them for good. I thought all deleted items were supposed to disappear once you close the program, no? I never had to even deal with Profile Folders on my older PC. Thank oyu for your assistance.

I seem to have lost the search bar that allowed me to find certain emails in specific folders. I am now left with the one that searches all my email folders. Why? How do I get it back?

Hi This morning when I tried to send an email I got a message there was no disk space & so couldn't save copy to sent (I have 848 GB free on HD)

I tried to copy some old sent emails to a folder I've used in the past (old sent) & TB crashed. When I restarted it, many of my subfolders were missing. They are all still showing in Local folders in profile. I deleted all msf files & restarted TB. Nothing.

How can I restore these folders? Hopefully that's possible! Thanks

Hi: I recently set up a new computer. I copied over all the important files I could find before a full hard-drive erase of my old computer. I reloaded Mozilla Thunderbird linked to my Earthlink account. However, upon opening Thunderbird, I discovered that my address book and all saved emails in Thunderbird were lost, and I didn't save them in the Earthlink account itself other than the address book. I do daily backups with Carbonite. Is there a file or files I can look for in my Carbonite backup files that would contain the saved emails? If so, what are their names?

From the article "Microsoft OAuth Authentication and Thunderbird in 2024" there is a screenshot showing a OAuth2 option for the SMTP server setting with STARTTLS connection security. It does not appear for me. There are only the five options, as shown in the screenshot. How do enable the option to be available in the drop-down list or set it?

Just got home from vacation and it looks like I left my computer running for a week. Looking for an email and noticed that many, many emails from my saved subfolders are missing. Does Thunderbird automatically archive or something? I have never archived purposely. I need to know whether to use my backup program to try to retrieve these missing emails or to get them from my profile. Instructions in very easy explanation, please. I've tried to search this on the internet, etc. and I'm just lost and panicking. How can I tell if they were archived or not? I've found my "profile" but I can't tell what, if anything, to do from here.

When looking at my list of folders after download, the SPAM folder doesn't seem to update the count of unread messages until I specifically open it. I miss the fact I have spam unless I specifically go in and look. Is this a function/feature of JUST the SPAM folder (all other folders seem to have their counts updated after a download). On Thunderbird 115.12.1 64 bit if that is of interest.

I can receive from outrlook365 but cannot send....... my email shows up(lornea@fowc.ca)as a good account

the outgoing sever settings are correct: they are smtp.office365.com What can be the problem please

Hi All my emails from before February 2023 have disappeared. I live in Australia my server is Telstra who informed me that it isn’t their fault and that I should contact you. Many thanks Bee

Every time I open up Thunderbird a tab opens up containing a Thunderbird Privacy Notice. As I'm working then every so often a number tab opens with the same information. If I'm in Thunderbird for long I can have a dozen on more identical tabs. How do I stop this?

As of Sunday, Thunderbird can no longer reach my ATT server to download email. It has behaved for ten to fifteen years. Last time someone at ATT fixed it. I have been on the phone or on screen with ATT most of my waking hours since Sunday. (In the process I lost my internet, my landline, my cell connection, etc.) Everything is restored except the connection between Thunderbird and ATT. Everyone thinks changing my password will do it. Done it four times. It gets me into the ATT mail. I have replaced the password in Thunderbird settings with it to no avail. Is there anything you can think of? Not only is Thunderbird more attractive than ATT, I have thirty years of mail boxes there, a continuation from Eudora. I will appreciate your wisdom.
