I have changed my default search engine, but the setting is not applied on my other devices. I have had to manually change it for each device. I have checked my Sync settings and everything is checked.

Ctrl+Shift+D does not bring up bookmark dialog [no response]. Only way to "save all tabs" now is to press alt+B, then move mouse pointer to dropdown menu and select the "save all tabs" menu item with the mouse poiter [only]. This kind of defeats the "keyboard shortcut" approach to ease of use. Previous behavior was by pressing Ctrl+Shift+D would bring up a save bookmarks dialog, and I'm done. I use a lot of "save all tabs". This is only become an issue since apparently installing Firefox v115.12.0esr version 2 days ago, which I didn't hardly remember happening. Although I am running Win8.1, but as stated this was not issue before the newer version Firefox installed. This does not appear to be a Win8.1 incompatibility issue. I have intended to upgrade to Win10, but have other more pressing events recently [accidents, hospitals, etc, etc,etc.] My keyboard tests OK. The Ctrl+Shift+D combination registers as an OK keyboard combination. [?] I've run FF with extensions disabled - same results. [?] Thanks.

After years of working fine, this message has started appearing whenever TB tries to retrieve messages. I've checked that there's enough space (there's many GB free). I've checked the authorisations of the email folders, they're all fine (Full Control in all cases). I found an answer in a forum suggesting that a rogue antivirus might be the problem, but I'm only using MS Defender.

In desperation I removed the entire Roaming/Thunderbird folder, uninstalled TB, reinstalled it (version 115.12.2), created a new profile for my email address (it's a Yahoo email address, and I can retrieve the emails directly through the Yahoo Mail website with no problems). But I'm still getting the same error message. TB tries to retrieve the messages, it says 'Retrieving message 1 of 105' for several minutes, then the error message popup, and nothing appears in the Inbox. (105 is all the incoming messages as of now since this started happening).

I'm completely stuck. Any suggestions?

I am experiencing a problem where when I exit the Firefox for Android app with a tab open, and then reopen the same tab later, the tab search bar becomes unresponsive. I can type in a new search query or new website URL but upon pressing search, it loads indefinitely. The issue is seems specific to that tab as it doesn't persist if I open a new tab and put in the same contents into the searchbar - this works fine. This doesn't happen every time I close the app and then want to make a search from an existing tab, but it happens fairly regularly.

It's a pretty small issue as far as bugs go, but it is annoying from time to time and I would love if there was a fix :-)

Hello, I cannot log in to Twitter/x.com with the Firefox browser. There is a constant loop when registering. Firefox browser does not connect Twitter/X.com.

I have received an email from Microsoft advising that from a date in September third party apps will no longer be able to access outlook email accounts. Does this mean I will no longer be able to use Thunderbird - which has been my preferred email client for many years? Thanks Nigel

I occasionally get a Authentication Failed to Server (Outlook.com) and when it occurs it continues for 1-5 minutes then goes away again.

Is there any error logging proceedure that I can set up to see what the exact issue is?

I've tried running a parallel alternative email client (eM Client) and that doesn't seem to suffer in the same way, but I much prefer Thunderbird so would like to find out what the problem is.

Everytime I load Firefox the bookmarks sidebar is not shown.

Navigating thus View => Sidebar => Bookmarks I can bring it up. It will stay visible for the whole of my browser session. However, after I've closed this session and started another. the bookmark sidebar is missing again.

How can I make the bookmarks sidr be available all the time?

FF 127.0.2 OS Windows 11 Pro v 24H2 Build(26100.994).

So my firefox crashed, I had over 50 tabs with information I want to read later when I have time, so they usually pile up. I tried to restore when I got the error when starting up firefox. It said it was successful, but there were literally no tabs available.

Is there a way to access older syncs? Since I assume my now synced state is this empty hell.

Attachments in pdf format are covered with green color. The color disappears, for example, when I open printing setup window. I have arleady repaired the folder and fully reinstalled thunderbird. Do you have any ideas how to repair it?

I normally have a few tabs open all the time. When I close FF with the windows x on the title bar it closes and when I click the FF logo pinned on the taskbar FF opens with my previous session tabs, this is normal way work. Then for some reason it suddenly changes so when I open FF I get a new window with no tabs. I usually can recover this with >History>Recently closed tabs. But if FF is started with a link in a document, I deal with that and when it closes I realise that it had opened a new window, when it closes there is no recently closed tabs history and I've lost them all. I think this happens because the link opened a new window and closed it automatically and now because it had no more tabs open there is no tab history to recover. But then it stays like that. Every time I open FF it opens a new blank window, I click the >Recently closed tabs and get it back. Then close the new blank window then close FF but it doesn't re-open with the previous tabs even though it's set to do so. It works OK for a while and then suddenly starts this aberration. I've tried getting help on this before and was advised to close FF >3Bars>Exit but that closes all open sessions rather than just the one I want to close. This problem has been on going for a long time and is extremely annoying when all the tabs are lost. I even suggested that there could be a session stack maybe 10 or 20 so we could open that and recover any of the stack sessions we wanted. I'm sorry to say that FF is not the reliable browser it once was.

Hi, i have a PEC account configured on 2 different computers, when i forward a mail, near the message appears a blue mark, but in the other computer didn't appear, so my colleague cannot tell if i forwarded the mail or not, can you help me? this problem is only with PEC accounts, with normal mail works correctly, this problem came out some months ago, before worked also whit the PEC accounts

sometimes when I send an email, the program loads a completely different email and then saves it as sent,sometimes when I send an email, the program loads a completely different email and then saves it as sent. On the email provider's website, everything is correct, but unfortunately there is an error in the program. This comes up to me often.

Recently switched from Outlook to Thunderbird, however still have Outlook to make sure Thunderbird is working the way I want to.

However any emails that I am sending - whilst appearing in my Sent folder in Outlook, aren't in the same folder in Thunderbird. Strange thing is however, if I use the search bar, it DOES find the email, and says it is in my sent folder.

I've tried sorting by name, by date, by anything I can think of, but I can't find these emails in the sent folder.

The only thing I can think of, is that the emails have not been delivered - even though sent - because when testing it out with a separate email address that I have, the emails appear fine.

Any ideas anybody?

Try saving to a different location. --- The file name is 144 characters long including spaces. I don't have any technical browser experience so I'll put what I know. These are the headers HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: nginx Date: Fri, 28 Jun 2024 03:52:54 GMT Content-Type: application/octet-stream Content-Length: 4841076 Connection: keep-alive ETag: "65a096a5-49de74" Accept-Ranges: bytes Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="[144 char long filename].pdf" Everything seems okay. When I click on the link instead of opening as Save As, which I think it should, it immediately gives me that error. I have the ask me where to save thing checked. My home directory is ecryptfs. Ecryptfs says it has a max file name of 143 characters. Mine stops working after 140 characters or 144 including ".pdf". Anyways I think the file name breaks my file system. I was trying to download two pdfs. This is another one I tried to download earlier that gave me the error. Additionally clicking save link as allows me to choose a file name and continue normally. I have a few more problems I'd like to put in this ticket. A. After giving me the error Firefox crashed immediately afterwards. This was a few days ago. Firefox has never crashed like that before in months. I don't remember exactly what happened but it did crash. If crash logs are needed I can find it. B. After attempting to downloading a video (mp4) file this happened. The mp4 file didn't show up anywhere but a -1 byte part file showed up. It took the name of a subfolder in the folder I had intended to download the image file. I'll explain it in further detail below. I attempted to download an image in /home/user/Documents. In the Documents folder I had another folder which I'll call example. So /Documents/example. I did save the video in Documents but I don't think that mattered. After closing the save as box that popped up after clicking save video I noticed the weird file show up in the Downloads tab. It showed up in the "example" folder and took the name "example".part. Remember I never chose the "example" folder but I did choose the Documents folder. All my files inside the "example" folder broke and I couldn't delete the weird part file. Clicking properties showed the permissions could not be determined. When I interacted with it (I think I tried deleting it) it gave me an error with "gvfsd-admin daemon". I don't remember what it said exactly. I applied my folder's permissions to its contents and I was able to delete it. It doesn't show up in my downloads manager now. I ran clamav and everything was fine. Note I downloaded the video from a trusted source, twimg or the twitter video host. C. Finally when downloading a pdf link that worked, I didn't get the file app box that allows you to save as. I stated above that I have the ask me where to save thing turned on. I don't know if that was a feature or what. Here's the link. I would like to remove the newly added listing "Local FOlders" from the Folder Tree and restore the Local Folders listing that was moved to the bottom (below All Folders) to its proper place, namely Above Local Folders. This group displays Sent Copies which I use frequently. The newly added 2nd display called "Local Folders" does not disply "Sent Copies" when I click on it in the folder tree. Thunderbirfd decided to move my original "Sent Folders" display to the bottom of the tree when updating to the latest version last night (early morning hours of 6/26/24). I run thunderbird in Windows 10 Desktop on Lenovo w530 using wired internet connection.

What is the way to tell thunderbird to index IMAP folders in global-messages-db.sqlite which are not stored locally?

And a more generally, how does this part work, message indexing and remote IMAP folders not stored locally? Here, after removing the database, thunderbird indexed only some very limited set of IMAP folders in the Gloda, but not all of the folders, despite all are checked for "Include in global search". Or maybe it didn't even index whole folders, - I can't say for sure.
