Since Thursday 8th May 2014 weird adds are appearing on websites. Photobucket, meetup.com and http://doctorwhotoys.forumshome.com/.

I uninstalled Firefox but they are still appearing, they fill half the page I am viewing. Adds are buy Facebook shares, Seems to come from TopTipsNews-UK

Also, go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page (There’s a lot of good stuff here)
and get a good add / pop-up blocker.

hello, you may have malicious addons present. please try these steps:

  1. reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
  2. afterwards go to the firefox menu New Fx Menu > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
  3. finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.
