Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Make sure that you do not block JavaScript.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

This is a Microsoft issue with their servers. My guess, when switching over to their new Outlook.com, they messed up their servers. Getting that blank screen turns out to be a downed server, where your email account is located. Either wait a while for it to get fixed, or use this url instead to login. http://mail.live.com/mail/browsersupport.aspx Works for me.

If that doesn't work follow the tips below. It just sucks to have to keep doing this everytime it happens. Hopefully Microsoft can get their heads out of the clouds, check their feedbacks, and fix this issue.

Hotmail hosts numerous servers and user accounts are spread across different servers.

If you are able to sign in and are not encountering any login error, please follow these steps to know the server that hosts your account:

1. Log into account

2. Hover over the "Inbox" button

3. In the bottom of the browser in the status bar it'll show the server URL that we're familiar with:

Example: http://bl113w.blu113.mail.live.com/mail/Inbox...

In this example, blu113 is the server name.

Note: If you do not see a server name in the status bar when you hover over the inbox or any other folder, please point your mouse pointer to any of the options under "Related Places" in the bottom left hand corner.

If you can't sign in to the account and encounter an error message because the server is down:

1. Click on this link: http://mail.live.com/mail/browsersupport.aspx

2. Input your Hotmail credentials if it prompts you to

3. You'll be taken to a default error page - hover over the "continue to Hotmail" link

4. In the bottom of the browser in the status bar it'll show the server URL that we're familiar with:

Example: http://bl113w.blu113.mail.live.com/mail/default.aspx

In this example, blu113 is the server name.
