Since upgrading my broadband speed, I have had problems with web pages loading very slowly, I have tried running in safe mode with all add ons disabled, and there is little to no difference.

Downloads and uploads are not affected once the page loads, the download is as fast as I would expect.

Try to update to Firefox 13 (which was just released today) and then, if you are still experiencing speed problems, try resetting Firefox Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

You can also try to reset (power off/on) the router.
