Our application makes significant use of the title bar, but the bar has disappeared from new version of FF.

Please restore it as default, but allow users to hide it

Meanwhile, don't keep suggesting that we update to the new version

The titlebar will show when the browser window is not Maximized, but that isn't going to display the titlebar text that was removed in Firefox 4.0 and later versions - that text is gone, never to return.

See this - to learn how to turn off update notifications.

BTW, you can get the latest Firefox 3.6.x version here:

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion.

We have many users of our system [1] worldwide, so regrettably it's not feasible to (a) change our application and (b) ask them all to install an add-on.

Sorry, it sounds like the developer of that application might need to re-think the UI, as most browsers are moving away from having text in the titlebar. Why have that text on both the Tab and the Titlebar, it's a waste of UI real estate. IMO, that is limiting your user's to older browsers or the less popular browsers. On Windows platforms, that leaves basically Safari and IE with that older feature still being present.

Hmm.. If the tab bar is on, it only shows about 40 chars width of the title.

So, it does not duplicate the info on the original title bar.
