when i launch firefox 4 from the task bar i get "plug-in object: TypeError: [..id] is unidentified" which i'm not sure is the complete message because the first part of the message is off the screen so i can't read it. i just upgraded to v. 4

This issue can be caused by an extension (McAfee ?) that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
