there is a command prompt window in the background that pops up randomly while using firefox. Its title "firefox something" on the top. when i close it, firefox crashes and all of the firefox windows close. when i reopen firefox, i get the option to restore session or start new session. this started about two weeks ago. i cant find any troubleshooting tips about it. i use the laptop for business purposes and dont want any info leaked or stolen. how do i get rid of it?

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Sorry it took me a while to get back but none of your solutions work. But I managed to get a snapshot of what I'm talking about. Hope it helps.

Just to recap, if I close that command prompt window all of firefox crashes and closes and if I re-open the browser, it gives me the option to start new session or restore old session. Please let me know if this is a virus or something. Thanks.
