I have looked into settings but found no solution to this issue. Web search results are completely irrelevant to this issue as well. Haven't been able to find a fix for this.

Shameer, In my case Firefox starts with the side panel resuming in whatever state it was in when Firefox last closed.

Have you tried closing all but one Firefox window, ensuring that the side panel is closed in that last window, and then exiting Firefox (by, for example, pressing Ctrl+Shift+Q, or choosing "Exit" from the File Menu)?

What might also possibly work, if you have multiple Firefox windows open, is to ensure that the side panel is closed in all of them, and then exit Firefox via one of the methods above.

Hi, I have tried to close the sidebar and then quit. This does not resolve the issue. It does however remember if I switched it's position to left or right on every quit..ಥ_ಥ
