Firefox 123.0.1 W10 Pro.

Recent refresh of Firefox, suggested by Mozilla, due to some HTTP conflict.

Refresh created a new profile and backed up/saved old profile. Now can not get auto login or auto fill to work. Will not stay logged in when leaving a page.

Can I remove the new profile and use the old one?

Hi there,

If your profile data is missing after a Firefox update, you can use the following steps to help resolve your issue: 1. Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it. The About Profiles page will open. This page should list at least one profile.

The profile that Firefox is currently using will show: This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted.

Please do not delete anything here; don't use any Remove buttons.

2. If there is another profile named "default" or "default-[number]", you can click on "Launch profile in new browser" to see if this is the correct profile. If it is, go back to the original window and click on "Set as default profile". Then relaunch Firefox to apply your changes. If it isn't, simply close the new window that Firefox opened.

For more information, you can visit Recover user data missing after Firefox update.

If this helped, please mark this as the solution so that others can use this as well. Otherwise, have a great rest of your day and best luck in resolving this issue!
