Thunderbird 115.5.2 Can send but not receive emails (uk)

Hi. I have suddenly stopped receiving emails with Thunderbird 115.5.2. I am still able to send them. When I go to get messages I see 'Host contacted, sending login information...', but it just hangs (blue progress bar at bottom moves for about one minute) I have altered the server settings many times , to different combinations found on discussion sites. Nothing works. The emails are coming to the server, (outlook.office365.com) which is where I am reading them at the moment. Has anyone else experienced this recently and know of a solution. Thank you

Perhaps try the setting Microsoft suggest. Try this link and see if you get any settings https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/options/mail/accounts

Hi Matt, thanks for your help. The link brings up (under Sync emails) alias's along with my email address. POP & IMAP are allowed access.When I look at sync email on my present settings POP & IMAP are not allowed access (greyed out) . I not sure how to allow this access. Could this be the problem?
