Is it possible to downgrade a plugin to the previous version?

Modern answer:
- Go to https://addons.mozilla.org and search for the extension
- On the extension page on the left-side, go to "More Information" box, Version History at bottom
- Click "See all versions"
- Look for the "old" version you want and underneath it click "Download File" and install the extension when prompted. (it will overwrite the other version)
- Ensure you go to about:addons and click on that extension, setting "Allow automatic updates" to off
