If I'm using Private mode and I close Firefox completely. Next time I start up Firefox, it starts up with the Private browsing page. I have to click on the Private icon to switch to Public mode.

Basically looking for an option to "Always start in Public mode", "Always start in Private mode" or "Always start in Last Close Mode"

Hi

In the Firefox for Android menu under Settings and Privacy, you can select Private Browsing to see an option to add a shortcut to the Android home screen. This will open Firefox for Android in private browsing mode.

I'm aware of that. Though the shortcut does not separate the functionality. Whether you open Private browsing within Firefox or use the Private Browsing Shortcut, once you close Firefox, last state is remembered. So if you were Private browsing last, next time you start up Firefox you are immediately in Private mode.

It would be good if you could start use the Shortcut to separate the modes so closing one does not impact the other. However this is not the case.
