The groups in my address book are all jumbled up

I have a series of groups in my Mac OS address book in my Thunderbird address book. they used to be in alphabetical order. Now, suddenly, they have all become jumbled up and I can't put them back in alphabetical order. I'm sure there's an easy fix but I can't find it. Can anyone help?

You don't say what version of Mac, but I'm guessing it's a recent one.

TB currently has a problem working with Mac AB on newer versions of Mac. It is being looked out, but it is unclear when this will be resolved.
