When I downloaded the firefox upate, it got rid of my toobar and all of my bookmarks. Could not recover them. Can't even get thingd put on the toobar. This has

When I downloaded the Firefox update, my toolbar disappeared and all my bookmarks are gone. Need them back ASAP for my work. Tried to restore bookmarks, but my computer can't open the json file.

Hi mendaholmes, sorry to hear about this problem. Your Firefox reported itself as version 54. Do you think that's accurate -- the current version is 60 -- or did you do a system restore (not recommended) or roll back to an older version?

Firefox's bookmark backups aren't meant to be opened directly, but there is a Restore feature in the Library window. Could you try the steps in this article and see whether they work for you:
