no text in message pane, just diagonal line pattern
The message pane displays light gray diagonal lines in the upper pane, right under the column headings. Uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird multiple times and most recently removed all Registry references to Thunderbird before performing another reinstall. After reinstall, the same pattern appears in all the default folders (no accounts set up other than Local, Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Trash and Outbox). The Outbox folder, with (2) in the name, indicates there are two messages in it but nothing shows up. This error appears to carry over from the software before the Registry was scrubbed of all Thunderbird references leading me to question what my computer is retaining from the prior installations and how do I cleanse it fully?
I have a screenshot *.pdf file but the "Add images:" feature here never seemed to complete the download which is unfortunate.

I suspect that the Quickfilter bar is set to show only some specific type of messages and there are none of that category. The striping is intended as a visual alert to such filtering being operational.
This forum takes jpeg and png files. The png format is much the best suited to screen shots.
Thunderbird does not use the registry. You need to find out about its profile.
