Authentication failure with SMTP-server

I've been running Thunderbird for years on Gentoo which has version 115.10.1 as the most recent. I don't send much mail so I'm not exactly sure when this problem occurred, but I'm unable to authenticate with my SMTP server. I have not changed any configuration. Some weeks ago a changed my password on the server, but I made the appropriate changes to Thunderbird password manager. All settings, username and passwords are 100% correct as I copy pasted all of them. IMAP on the same server (uses same credentials) works.

I have tried deleting and re-adding my accounts which did not help. I have also tried deleting my profile folder. All other mail clients (e.g. claws-mail, kmail, mailspring) with the same SMTP server don't have any problems sending mail. This problem seems to only affect Thunderbird and Thunderbird forks such as Betterbird.

I have no firewall and am using SSL authentication with cleartext password on the SMTP server.

I get the following output to console on attempted sending of message:

I recently had a accident with Mozilla Thunderbird, where I lost all of the mails from my INBOX. The INBOX file in profile folder became completely empty, showing file size had dramatically decreased from gigabytes to couple bytes. I have tried everything to restore my mails without success. Can anyone help?

thunderbird not open too well, or opens straight to settings page? Then noticed from task manager, thunderbird program is running background and must be force closed from task manager.

Sent folder loading has become really slow

Recently, Thunderbird started to exhibit the following behavior:

We sent a test message around 2024-03-18 08:26:00, immediately after starting the logging.

We finally see the message sent to the Sent folder on 2024-03-18 08:33:19.130595 UTC.

I'm unsure when the message was finally written to the server.

After this, there is also a problem opening the Sent folder. Basically, the new message won't become visible until after about 20 minutes.

After initially waiting for this, the error changes a bit: Sending starts working, but updating the Sent folder still takes around 20 minutes. In other words, the sent message won't become visible after 20 minutes.

After sending a message, it takes around 20 minutes to appear in the Sent folder.

I have Thunderbird 91.11.0, and it suddenly stopped having a connection to my outlook.office365.com email account. Thurderbird won't accept my password, but the account works as an https://outlook.office.com/ browser version in the same computer and other computers. I have not changed Thunderbird in any way, it was just unused for a few hours.
