Keeps trying to install 60.5.2 when 60.5.3 is already installed. [problem resolved itself]

A couple of weeks ago every time I started Thunderbird it would force a computer restart to install v 60.5.3. I finally got the repeated restarts and installs to stop by restarting without add-ins. Now every time I start Thunderbird I'm in the same situation, BUT it's trying to install an earlier version (v 60.5.2)!!

I'm getting so annoyed I'm ready to give up on Thunderbird.

Is there a solution? Why would T-bird be trying to install an earlier version?

What add-ons do you use besides Lightning? Do you have a security program that has an updater, e.g. Avast, Kaspersky? If you uninstall TB your profile folder with all user data isn't affected, and then you could download and install the full program, which is currently 60.6.

"Hi Wayne, Eventually it just seemed to go away. Maybe it had something to do with my occasionally running Win 10 metered (to control Win 10 updates, oy). I wasn't able to control the sequence to see if that was it, though. I don't have add-ins, so that wasn't the problem. And I've now been updated to 60.9.0 without a blip.
