make Thuderbird weclome screen go away
When I open T/bird the "Welcome to T/Bird" screen fill most of the screen. I can shrink it by enlarging message are but then I can't read mail.

From the menu bar select Tools-Options-General and uncheck the box for the Start Page
No menu bar? Press the alt key.
