My computer had a major disaster and all download programmes were lost. I have the profile address before the breakdown. Having downloaded Thunderbird again, how can I get it to read from the old profile?

Does Thunderbird 128 have an automated, scheduled backup command option? I am test driving Thunderbird and have seen information online for 115 about copying the profile, etc. Does exactly this process continue for 128? Em client, which seems to me to be the nearest competitor, has a way in settings to set up a routine automatic backup for every three days.

I recently reinstalled Thunderbird in order to change from POP server to IMAP server with ATT.NET. My new install works OK, new messages are received and outgoing mail seems OK. Unfortunately, I set up message folders in the last installation, which appeared in the left hand column under my account name, and are now gone in the new install. I have spent multiple days fumbling with profiles and mail folders trying to restore the appearance and functionality of the message folders on the main page with no resolution. if there is no solution because of the POP vs IMAP nature of the message files, I will resign my self to that and stop torturing my self blindly attempting to fix the problem myself. If there is a prescribed way to recover and access the old messages I would appreciate some guidance on how to make it happen. Thanks Glen Wheeler

I am currently running TB on the Debian version of Linux Mint Cinnamon.

Is there a written instruction for installing TB somewhere? Does this version install on top of the old TB or entirely by itself? When done installing, do the menu selections appear where they should, or is placing them a separate job? JC

Adding gmail address to Thunderbird. Brings up the screen with the correct gmail address. I press allow, but message in Thinderbird is telling me wrong credentials. Dit all the tips I found, still wrong credentials. Fighting this for weeks on and off. Can't find the source of the problem. I am a Thunderbird user for many years, contributed money because I was(?) a happy user.....now I am frustrated. Please help me out.

Hi there, I'd like to be able to export events as a simple .ics-file. This has various reasons (e.g. sharing with others without getting updates) and I have seen this being requested by many others before. I know there is a work-around if you copy an event and then paste it into a text editor, but this seems like an awfully crude way to do something that should be super simple. I think that would be simple yet very valueable addition. Kind regards

Hi. I have an email purporting to be from Microsoft telling me that I will have access problems with Thunderbird from September onwards. Something to do with authentification. Assuming it is genuine (is it?) I have no idea what to do. It gives 'instructions' which are incomprehensible to me. I dont even know why this link is to Mozilla rather than thunderbird. I don't want to loose Thunderbird's calendar or stored files let alone the ease of access I currently enjoy. I need someone kind and patient to tell this novice how to move forward in a pedantic, non-terminology way who is happy to assume I know nothing! Please help! Brian

When I tried to get new messages, Thunderbird responds "Check mail server capabilities" and hangs. The latest new e-mail is dated 3:52 AM this morning and nothing since, although I can see many later e-mails using my web-based mail server.

morning i seem unable to sign into my email accounts althou it says details found when it veryfies the password it says account unavalable due to configuration wrong, please help as i am expecting an important email from the huspital. thank you in advance.

I have a couple of computers and I can't send emails from them! one is a verizon.net account and one is a gmail account. What would it cost to have some one log into my computer and fix things. Since Verizon with with aol it has been screwed up! I'm a senior (69) and don't seem to have the abilities I used to, also living on social security does not afford me to just buy new software. thank you so much, John

When I attach a file to an email in Thunderbird, the window of attachment goes always to the first file instead to return to the last file attached when I want to attach a second file which is a loss of time. It is better to return to the last chosen file.

I use SeaMonkey email. In the last month, something has happened to prevent me from sending email. I can receive, but not send. My provider, Spectrum, is no help in troubleshooting. I decided to try & set up a Thunderbird account, but it also prevents me from completing the installation because of configuration errors. I am at the point where I have done everything I know. Help.

Since migrating from BT to EE they changed some settings & now I am unable to send e-mail, but can still receive them. I can still use webmail though. EE cannot help as they have no knowledge of how Thunderbird works. The only help they gave was to contact you. I run version 115.12.2 (64-bit) using Windows 10. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
