When I try to view some video from my security cameras I get the following error message. "No video with supported format and MIME type found". How do I go about fixing this issue? The video whats to open in firefox eveytime.

Sooo frustrated... wrote this back in 2019: I can't believe this is still a problem, I am upgrading to a new laptop and so have to go through setting google.co.uk to be my default search engine - again!? - but I can't seem to make it happen. Can someone please give me the steps again. and can someone explain why it isn't possible to just choose google.co.uk to be the default - there's a whole world out there that isn't in the .com space

surprise surprise it is still a problem and the resolution provided by jscher2000 - Support Volunteer has been moved/removed:

Add-ons site, for example: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/googleuk/ (this one gets UK suggestions, the other three I checked get .com suggestions, if suggestions matter)

I find the mycroft solution doesn't help.

can anyone help with the addon required please? and a plea to make google.co.uk available as a choice please!

I use Firefox as my primary browser for several reasons, but the main one is because it has the best Picture-in-Picture (PiP) feature. However, I no longer use Windows and have encountered problems with it on various Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian...). Currently, I'm only using Fedora 40, and the problem persists.

The issue is that when I click on the PiP icon, it activates normally, but when I switch windows or minimize and then maximize Firefox again, the video disappears.

I will attach some screenshots to clarify the issue.

I would like to know if there is any way to resolve this. I’ve already reset the settings, cleared the cache, and tested different installation methods (software store, .tar.bz file, apt, dnf, snap). I’ve tried troubleshooting mode and even installed the Developer Edition, but the problem persists. I’m wondering if this is an issue with the Linux version of Firefox.

Hanging up trying to open Yahoo / AT&T email - other things like pulling up AOL News only getting part way there. AND this is the second time I've entered this today, 07/31/2024 but the first one disappeared.

Is there a way to change text alignment for Firefox PDF viewer?

When I add text to a PDF file, sometimes it's left aligned and sometimes centered, so I think I might have changed the alignment accidentally.

After I installed an update on the morning of 7/29 I can no longer access my pop email server pop.nuvox.net

When I click on the 'Get Messages' icon nothing happens. Before the update I would get a exception message about some item not being standard and asking me to accept it, which I did, and then was able to download my email until the next restart of Thunderbird.

When using Firefox latest version 128.0.3 (64-bit) on Win10 22H2 the "New mail" feature inside Outlook (Office365) is completely broken, check screenshot: when you click "New mail" the layout of the box is out of whack, you can type but the elements are all over the place.

I have tested it on Chromium, same login and it works just fine and shows nicely.

I've tried Firefox Troubleshoot mode and I am getting same wrong error as in the screenshot; also reseted the settings in Firefox and getting same thing.

It'd be amazing if anyone has any idea how to fix this, it has become unusable and I feel like I'll have to go back to Chromium or Brave and don't want to do it, I wanna keep using Firefox : (

I open PDF from my files system or an app (Zotero f.e.). I make annotations since the annotation tools in Firefox are nice. Just a few highlights, maybe comment, underlines, whatever. I want to save the file and quit Firefox.

BUT - Firefox doesn't automatically save the opened file but rather wants me to "save as" a new file to be downloaded and chosen to be saved somewhere specificaly. I cannot just "save", I have to "save as" like I would download or create a new file.

I don't want to create new downloaded file to save somewhere else. I want to save annotations and such changes directly to the original file so I can just hop in and out of the file when I want to continue reading or edit annotations f.e..

MS Edge let's you save the changes to the file right to the original file so you can just hit "save" (ctrl+s) and close the window.

Hopefuly my question for clarification is somewhat understandable.

As the subject says, when i middle mouse click on a link to open it in a new tab in a folder on the bookmark bar, the folder closes, which is annoyign when i want to opne multiple pages. How do i prevent this folder closing?

Also the "When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" check mark doesnt seem to work when it comes to the adresse bar. Firefox will switch to any page i middle mouse click in my bookmark bar with this setting UNCHECKED. I fixed this wrong behavior by setting this option "browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground" to TRUE in the "about:config" settings page.

I also want to add that this problem is recent. I've been using firefox for a few years and only since one of the recent updates (dont know which one) has this problem occured. I assume it's a bug since such inconsistent "setting options to actual ui behavior" is laughable.
