About once per week, I'll be using Firefox and it will stop working. I'll close it and open it again and it gives me an error message "The application "Firefox" can't be opened."

If I download Firefox and reinstall it, everything will work fine for another week and then it will do it again. I'm not doing the same thing when it breaks. It does it on both my Mac Mini (macOS 14.5) and my Mac laptop (macOS 12.7.5).

It just started happening in May on both. Nothing has changed on both that I can think of.

Hi, I use firefox as my main browser but have had to start using others over the past 5 ish months because I can't make changes to appointment in my google calendar when in firefox and I can't read some of my emails because of a weird decorative small font when in firefox. Both problems disappear in other browsers.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox but the problems still persist. Any ideas?

I started getting a message today asking me for primary password in order to access saved passwords. It is not accepting the password I had used previously. Is there a way to reset primary password? What can I do to access all my saved passwords?

In seeing other answers to this dilemma it presents another problem. I do use sync. But what troubles me is IF I need to give out the password for someone to use the internet that person now has access to my passwords. Since there seems no way, unless I shutoff sync. Is this correct? Should there be some Secondary password? Passwordpasswordpasswordpasswordetc.

Hi, guys! This is driving me crazy! PLEASE, HELP!

Here, both Google Docs and .pdf files (from any site) keep jumping pages while I'm reading.

For example, from page 2, it goes to 9, then I scroll back up and it's on 15, etc.

I've already tried deleting all cookies, clearing the cache, completely uninstalling Firefox from my PC, but it always happens. I'm having this issue for weeks.

I tried uninstalling extensions, but I can't solve it. It's a nightmare.

Why can't I upload photos to ebay? I do not understand this (and you cannot right click to open it in a new tab either). See screenshot below. Any help gratefully received. Kind regards, Neil

Can we set it as a new tab option instead of manually clicking the button?

Currently, there's no way to achieve this with an extension thanks to malware risks preventing any add-ons from targeting the local URL (i.e. 'about::___') as a new tab.

Introducing this page as a new tab option has the potential to significantly enhance the Firefox ecosystem. It will make the transition from phone to desktop seamless, greatly improving multi-devices experiences.

Pinned tabs disappear from main browser window AFTER using "New private window" browser to test a different site issue. This has happened a few times for me. It is very cumbersome and should not be necessary to do a problem search and see all the steps needed to follow using the sessionstore.jsonlz4 process. Why can't Firefox have simple "restore PINNED tabs" history? I am going to plan on saving each link for each pinned tab in a document of my own simply because it is EXTREMELY annoying and TIME CONSUMING to try to get each of them back. Why does the "New Private Window" use cause this issue in the main browser window?

Hello. Recently I've noticed video quality has been reduced on amazon prime video. I get a message saying my hardware doesn't meet HDCP requirements.

I've already tried playing the same video on edge, and the quality selector was fine there, full HD video.

Since last update, when I am in email and select an image to download to my computer, it pops up in my browser. I have to right click to "Save As" to get it to my downloads folder, then click the back button of the browser to get back into email. Very frustrating. I have gone into firefox settings and set everything that I had an option to download to computer. It has not solved the problem. I have noticed in the application box in firefox settings, there is not an option of IMG, JPG, or PNG. Really need some help. thanks!

With a new tab, I ask a question, like 'When is Easter in 2025?' Nothing comes back to me, I just get a blank page. However, It still operates my Bookmarks. I tried clearing the cache but this didn't help. Other browsers, like Chrome, still work OK. Any suggestions?

Recently my Firefox does not load previous tabs when I closed Firefox down at night. I tried not closing my browser and that worked a couple of days. (always shut down my computer at night and restart it in the morning.) But that even does not work now. Everytime I restart my computer and open Firefox it starts with only a blank tab. I have read all the associated questions on here and tried everything posted, but to no avail. Do I need to go to a different browser to not lose my tabs? Please give me some help because this is irritating to start Firefox and not have my previous session tabs open. AND there is NO "restore previous session" available. Going through the history to try to find the tabs I'm looking for is a pain and NOT a viable solution. Thank you for your help in advance.

Out of nowhere I started having problems watching Videos on Twitch. So, after some Flatpak repairs and reinstalls, I decided to sync my data with Firefox Sync and remove it completely. For my surprise after reinstalling and logging in on Firefox Sync my only extensions and, what looks like part of my history were restored. Lost my session, custom tabs names etc.

I have a problem when using Firefox to connect to my BT email. I get an message from my Bitdefender security suite saying it has blocked a suspicious connection. Resetting Firefox and reloading my apps does not fix it. Running Firefox in Troubleshoot mode does not fix it Downloading a fresh firefox copy and new addons plus keeping my bookmarks does not fix it. Using Ghostery Dawn in Firefox does fix it. Any advice on how I can get rid of this pesky suspicious connection please. Its name is: prod5-cdata.sprinklr.com.s3.amazonaws.com

If an URL already have many tags or longish tags I can no longer see suggested tags when starting to type tags. Image example illustrates. This URL already have the following tag list:

1942, Air_Ministry, boost, cruise, memorandum, MP, rpm, Spitfire, Spitfire_MkIX, Spitfire_MkV, Spitfire_MkVI

Old behavior was if started to type ", spi" it would list suggestions:

Spitfire Spitfire_MkIX Spitfire_MkV Spitfire_MkVI

Easy & clear to select from.

Now it lists all already existing tags before each suggestion:

Suggestions are scrolled right invisible outside the input box.

Who thought this was a good new feature? It adds nothing, I can already see existing tags, why would I want to see them repeated for each new suggested tag (while not actually seeing the suggested new tag)?

How can I turn this *!$&@! off and return to old behavior?

How to save all browsing history. I seem to have lost all past history and now, only the session history is kept until log off? I do not know when my history was deleted it was a few days back but how do I customize my settings to save my history?Thanks for reading

Hello, there is no audio on my PC when I click on the audio button from dict.cc and dict.leo websites. I click it and the tab says it's playing audio but there is none. The audio button used to work and I didn't change anything. Other sites like YouTube work fine. How can I fix it?
