In every text editor I've ever used for the last 25 years, typing a number and then a period will automatically turn on paragraph numbering. Or typing a * or - at the start of a line will create a bulleted list. How can I have this behaviour with Thunderbird?

Currently my only solution is to use the mouse and toolbar, which really slows down writing an e-mail. I also looked for keyboard shortcuts, but couldn't find any.

I'm using Firefox on 24 PC's in a primary school computer Lab, I have had reports of students installing extensions and plugins that i wish to stop, also i've had issues with students not signing out of their email and other students gaining access.

Im looking for solutions for the following and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction -

1. Disabling the installations of extensions and plugins. 2. Clearing browsing history/logging out of any accounts. 3. Locking settings so students can't change settings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Adam

I'm looking for a method of customising the preview pane headers so that it displays more than From: To: Subject: and Tags: but I can't find an add-on that does this.

In particular I'm looking to display the Resent-From: header or even better any headers that match a regular expression I specify.

On previous versions I had Next and Previous buttons which were very handy for scrolling through lists of email. Is there a way I can add them to the current Thunderbird? Thanks.

I need Thunderbird to keep upper-case letters at the beginning of sentences when I do this. I also need my name to keep the first letter upper-case. Show me how to do this, please.

I can click on View, layout then either Classic, Vertical, or Wide view and nothing changes on my Email inbox. When I installed the update on my desktop the view stayed as it was since I installed the program which I think it was or prior to 115. Thunderbird has been updated to 128.1. When I installed 128.1 fresh install on my laptop it has a card style view and I can't change it no mater which view the check mark is on. Restarting Thunderbird after changing the check mark to different views had no affect. Maybe I am misunderstanding the terminologies.

In Australia, a lot of organisations are forcing native languages upon us. How can I block these words? I do not want to block the website....just the words in Native Languages.

I have tried to change the account settings for my hotmail emails, but for STMP settings Oauth2 was not listed as an available option. Please advise. I am able to access hotmail emails on an Android tablet, but need to reset Thunderbird on my laptop.

I recently updated Thunderbird. Currently now running 128.1.0esr (64-bit). The highlight colour (when I place the cursor on a message) is now a dark brown. I need to change this to another colour so that I can 'see' the text of the header. Have played with colours in Settings, General - these changes do not change the default highlight colour. Hi all

I used to firefox browser to read e-books but in editting as highlight any word in book you can't select it again via Cursor to copy it when you saved file.

I want to change this because we want quickly to select any word and copy it but highlight prevent us to copy words if we saved before the highlights on file.

And I wish you had supported EPUB file type to open It on browser like PDFs type.

How to completely reset Thunderbird preferences except for configured accounts? I mean all visualization preferences, menus, themes, buttons, whatever. But don't touch e-mail accounts.

When I as a screen reader user will try to adjust the buttons in the settings for the firefox toolbar, my screen reader is totally silent. I not can use the tab-key on my keyboard to jump from setting to setting.

Do the following: 1. Open Mozilla Firefox. 2. Press the left ALT key to open the menu bar. 3. Use the right arrow key to navigate to the "View" menu. 4. Press the down arrow key. 5. Use the down arrow key to navigate to the "Toolbars" submenu. 6. Press the right arrow key to open the "Toolbars" submenu. 7. Press the up arrow key until JAWS says "Customize Toolbar..." 8. Press Enter to open the screen where you can customize the toolbars. 9. Now, my screen reader is completely silent - nothing happens when I use the Tab key or arrow keys to navigate on the setting screen.

Is it possible for you that you can take a look on this issue?

I have tested with both the free screen reader NVDA (in the latest version on the time I write you), and the paid screen reader JAWS for Windows version 2024.

2. Another question - Is there an easy way to access the toolbars in Mozilla Firefox with screen readers (the toolbars contain buttons like reload, Firefox menu, Extensions, and more)?

When I press on the tab-key, e.g. when I stay on the address bar, my screen reader not read information about if I am on a toolbar or if I am on on the website I visit.

I have the latest version of Mozilla Firefox installed (version 129.01). My operating system is Windows 11 64-bit.

Hi, I'm new here and need some help. I use gmail as an email client and I want to use Thunderbird to save all my emails there. But when I delete them from Gmail, I want them to remain in Thunderbird and not be deleted from there. How to prevent the deletion of messages from Thunderbird using Imap? If I use Pop3, messages from folders or sent ones do not appear, that's why I use Imap, but when I delete messages directly from gmail, I see that they are automatically deleted from Thunderbird as well, how can I prevent this from happening again? I recently bought new Dell Inspiron and loaded Thunderbird as I have used elsewhere for very many years The folders are threaded which is usless for the way I work and I want to permanently disable this preferably in one action as I have many folders

Advice how to do this would be appreciated

I'm doing a major cleanup of old Gmail email messages. I want to quickly find the senders that have the most number of messages.

In Thunderbird, I set the view to All Mail, and then display in Card View. I'm sorting by From, and Grouped By Sort.

This gives me a useful view, but I can not find a way to sort by number of messages (in other words to display the senders in order based on the total number of emails from that sender and show me the number of messages.)

Is there a way to do this in Thunderbird? If not, are there any other tools/email clients that will give me a view like this?
