I'd like to share the Firefox browser issue.

When we download some video files from any URL, we can control the download progress via Notification card.

If we pause and resume the download progress even once, the video file could not be played even after downloaded completely.

You can find this problem even in the recent firefox version of 129.x

I hope this issue will be resolved in future version of Firefox.

If possible, please share us what is going to be taken about this issue.

I have provided feedback multiple times that whenever a file download needs to be resumed, it fails and restarts from 0MB. I don't understand why you are not taking this issue seriously. I'm forced to use an external downloader. However, there is another problem: I have to select the downloader every time, as there is no option to permanently choose an external downloader.

Hi, when using my iPad Pro, Firefox allow the movie files to be downloaded, but failed to open the window/tab to save the files. Please see the attached. This is after I hit download button and the movie has downloaded, then the screen look like this. I have already do the “restart” and Clear Cach”…and try to login and search for all the areas in “setting”…please help!

I understand that changing the file extension of downloads to match the file contents is a protection feature but it is causing me issues on mobile.

I am trying to download .rosz files, they are essential .zip files with a custom extension. These files are generated from one web app and are going to be uploaded into another web app and the receiving app will reject files with the wrong extension. The current behavior changes the file to .zip and requires me to manually locate the downloaded file and rename it back to .rosz .

Is there a setting that I can change to prevent download file extention renaming? I understand the security issues it can present and am willing to accept the risks.

I'm on the android version of firefox.

Downloaded file through private tab only saved for less than 5 minutes

So i browse in private tab, find image and file i want to download. I download them, and few second after the tab is closed or i closing the app, the file delete itself. At best it stays for few minutes. Sometime it delete itself before i close the tab and open the gallery/file manager to check if they still there. Only resulted on me seeing they delete itself.

Downloads don't start after multiple attempts. Later I see multiple downloads of the same file in my downloads folder.

In Android 14 oneUI 6.0 i have an issue while i download, the progress of download doesn't show up, i have checked everything but only the Firefox notification of private search shows up, plus when it is downloading the file i have problems when browsing, like when i use the keyboard The keyboard automatically closes and doesn't allows me to type I don't know if i explain myself clear enough

I keep running into this bug where, on the odd occasion I am trying to download a file and the download occurs slow sometimes from the server's end, I might start a download of the same file twice. Then when one finishes downloading, if I press cancel on the ongoing download, it deletes the other downloaded file from my storage. This probably happens because the files are named the exact same but cancelling a downloading file should not delete an already downloaded, different file.

I just downloaded dozens of photos — long press, then “add to photos” — and they are nowhere to be found. I discovered too late that I hadn’t turned on permissions for Firefox to access photos. But not once did I get a warning about that. Are those photos actually saved somewhere, or Is there any way to recover them? Either way, why did I not get a warning that Firefox couldn’t access my photos?

Hello, everyone!

I'm encountering a perplexing problem with downloading .mobileconfig WiFi profile files through a direct link in my ReactJS web application. This functionality works flawlessly on Google Chrome, Safari, and Edge across iPhone and iPad devices. However, when attempting the same on Firefox for iOS, the downloaded file becomes corrupted and unrecognizable as a .mobileconfig file.

The download mechanism is implemented using a simple anchor tag that points directly to the file on the server. Interestingly, only in Firefox on iOS, the content of the .mobileconfig file gets altered during the download process, leading to corruption.

I'm keen to understand why this issue is occurring specifically with Firefox on iOS and how to resolve it. Has anyone else faced a similar challenge or have any insights on how to ensure the file downloads correctly on all browsers, including Firefox on iOS? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I encountered a problem occurring under LineageOS 20 (android 13) on a Sony ZX1 Compact. Can't check if it's the android version or just something with that Lineage ROM (which works perfectly with anything else):

When I make a PDF of a web page with Firefox and then just press "view", the pdf viewer says the file doesn't exist, even though it was saved correctly to the Download folder. Choosing Firefox itself as pdf viewer, I could determine that the viewer gets a file link like this:

content://org.mozilla.firefox.feature.downloads.fileprovider/Download/Download/Kanaren-Wetter%3A%20Sturm-Warnung%20zum%20Wochenende%20ausgegeben.pdf

Which appears to point not to the real Download folder, but perhaps to Firefox' subfolder in the Android/Data folder? The same link is given in any other OS, and normally it always works. Could it have to do with the fact that in LineasgeOS 20 (and quite surely also stock android 13) the Android folder is write protected ?

With some web pages, Firefox provides different links, like: content://media/external_primary/downloads/1000009015 and with those there's no problem. So I think may really be an issue with directory access.

I fiddled around a lot with OS settings and Firefox beta's about:config as well, but to no avail. Also de- and reinstalled Firefox.

Any idea what could be the cause ?
