when i try to bookmark a new site, my entire list of bookmark folders does not show up

in the new Firefox 3.6.13 my entire bookmark menu does not show up when i try to add a new site to an existing folder. All folders show up when I open bookmarks from the tool bar. what do I do?

Did you make sure that you opened the Bookmarks Menu folder with the '+' at the left to see all folders in it?

This can also be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
