Bookmarks managing has become very slow

Using the current 3.6 release,lately I've seen all bookmarks-related activities (especially searching\editing bookmarks ,even more creating a smart folder) become annoyingly slow:can this issue be fixed? Maybe it has something to do with some database that needs cleaning,or some bookmark addon could be the problem? Thanks

Edit:after some searching looks like there's a bug filed already for this,something related with the latest places.sqlite version: if so, using some addon to compact this database may bring some improvement?

Well,yes,that's the bug I was talking about-what I don't know is if installing something like this https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5817/ or this https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/13878/ may improve things,given that both clean and compact the SQLite database.
