Chosen solution

Claudia, You will need to do the following:

  • Locate the backup of your previous profile. See https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles#How_to_find_your_profile - you will need to manually adjust for the location of your backup, and shortcuts like %APPDATA% won't work (On Vista/7, %APPDATA% is defined as C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming)
  • Locate your new profile. See above, but here you can just use the button from Help -> Troubleshooting Information
  • Copy the following files from the old profile to the new profile, with Firefox closed: key3.db, signons.sqlite

See https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile#Your_important_data_and_their_files
