Can't send email via TB using AOL
I have been using TB (currently: 78.12.0) for as long as I can remember. (the oldest email I can find is 2006). We have a Verizon email address which we use to login through AOL. About a week ago TB stopped sending mail and simply states:
"Login to server smtp.verizon.net with username Myusername@verizon.net failed."
I then get a 'Retry', 'Enter New Password', or 'Cancel' option.
Retry does not work. Enter New Password does not work (it just loops back to the above error). Cancel cancels.
We use the IMAP settings. TB does show sent emails that were sent from AOL webmail.
I can access and send email via the web app and also Samsung Email app on my phone.
I have checked the settings a hundred times because I really hate using the AOL webmail. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Use OAuth2 authentication, remove the passwords from Saved Passwords from Options/Privacy & Security, restart TB, enter the account password in the OAuth window when prompted.

Thank you, I can accomplish all the steps except for step one.
The only option for authentication that I can see in SMTP server are:
No authentication Normal Password Encrypted Password Kerberos/GSSAPI NTLM
I added a new outgoing server and with that I am able to add OAuth2 for authentication.
Removed PWs, restarted everything. Login to AOL when prompted. Email still doesn't send.
Check that you have the account sending on the correct smtp: right-click the account in the Folder Pane, Settings..., Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the right pane should point to the smtp with the same User Name as the selected account.
What is the antivirus, and its email settings?
