Mozilla announced the new version 57 of the firefox browser would be available on November 14, 2017. It is now the 16th and the version in the Google Play Store is still 56. Is there any plans to have the upgrade in the play store? I am in New York and I own a google Pixel XL (If it makes a difference). I have tried to upgrade. I have uninstalled and then reinstalled from the play store. It is very frustrating. I upgraded my windows versions and it works great. Any additional information would be appreciated.

hi beilstwh, mozilla is using the staged-rollout mechanism in google play to push out firefox in order to be able to halt updates in case some problems crop up during a release and need to be investigated. thankfully that isn't the case for firefox quantum & the update rate for 57 is now set to 99% (the remaining 1% are for reasons that are a bit difficult to explain). so in all likelihood you should receive an update in the coming hours - unfortunately that process is fairly opaque and afaik there is no way to "force" an update as an end-user.
