Hello,

I've changed computers and trying to fine tune my previous adjustments including Firefox. Although I imported all my previous settings, my custom zoom settings refuse to update. In an archived thread, the instructions stated to type in "toolkit.zoomManager.zoomValues" and make your adjustments and click ok. This was the process I followed in my old PC and it worked great, but no so great in my newer PC. The newer PC is a referb (Dell Grade A Optiplex/Win 10 Pro/Intel Graphics 520).
Is there a permission setting somewhere not permitting my changes to be saved or could this be a graphics card issue?
Thank you.

hmm could it be an update cause sometimes updates need some new configurating. So far I know most save files can be removed some way or another sometimes. Did this help you, good luck fine tuning George

Hi George, some settings changes do not apply to open windows but will apply in new windows or after an exit/restart of Firefox. Not sure whether this is one of those settings, or whether you already tried those things.

Hi guys! Thanks for the help. I've tried both suggestions but unfortunately they didn't work. I went back into my old PC and all my previous zoom settings still work, but when I import my settings into my new pc, my settings do not work. This feels like an admin setting not permitting me to make changes either in Firefox or my pc. Is there a security setting within Firefox that restricts making changes?

Thanks again for the tips.

My historical changes are minimal, but are still working in Firefox 88:

  • toolkit.zoomManager.zoomValues = .3,.5,.67,.8,.9,1,1.1,1.2,1.33,1.5,1.7,2,2.4,3,4,5,6,7,8
  • zoom.maxPercent = 800
  • zoom.minPercent = 300 [unchanged]

What values are you changing?

jscher2000.....Thx for the help. I just fixed the problem by copying the old .js profile and pasting into my new profile. For whatever reason, when exporting/importing my Firefox info from my old pc to new pc, it would not update my zoom settings. The copy/paste of the .js file was a work around. Thanks again for the help.
