Android 14, One UI 6.0, Samsung S22+

Firefox is using a large amount of battery while idle. You can see my app runs open a lot of the day, but not in use much. It has drained 20 percent of one days battery, and I am watching YouTube videos on another app (Grayjay btw check it out!) and it has used far less battery. If I set Firefox into a sleeping state, the app still drains a lot of battery. When in deep sleep,it stops draining as much power, but then Android keeps auto pushing their own browser to be my primary browser. I'm not sure what to do in this case, as it's too much of a hassle to have links not auto open in Firefox when in deep sleep. This excessive battery drain doesn't make sense, and I was wondering if there was any fix for this. Thanks for taking the time.

Hello,

I'm not able to upload files to certain websites using Firefox on Android.

When selecting a file for the phone's file manager, the file upload simply not starting.

However, Firefox on iOS doesn't have that issue.

Firefox version used is the latest one and it is the one from Google Play.

Tried another browser and it works great.

Despite updating to the latest Firefox version (127.0) and performing a reset, I continue to face high CPU usage issues. The battery monitor reports extensive CPU consumption for minimal use, even when only a single tab is open. This problem is not exclusive to the main Firefox app; it persists across other Firefox-based browsers as well.

Device: Xiaomi (HyperOS - Android 14) Issue: High CPU usage across multiple Firefox versions Troubleshooting Done: App reset, tried alternative Firefox-based browsers

I urge the development team to investigate this recurring issue, as it significantly affects the performance and battery life of mobile devices. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated by all users experiencing similar problems.

Issue 1: Why does Mozilla heat up so fast even though my device has no problems at all, and when will it be fixed? Because I've used Edge before, and it works very well and consumes little of my device resources. Issue 2 After the last update of Mozilla version 127.0.1, the use of in private mode became more difficult to use, and with my habit of keeping tabs open in private mode for a long time, sometimes up to 3 months. And I'd like to know when Mozilla will make it better for people who like to use it privately, because I don't like to use general mode, it's like there's constant surveillance for Mozilla users, and there are also cookies, so I don't like these and use them in privacy mode all the time I surf the web.And why is it harder for me to use it in In private mode? I have a hard time adjusting the buttons. I don't like the button that comes in place of the homepage button.

Hi,

I've been using firefox for 20 years and never experienced problems with webpage display until I started using it on my new phone samsung s23 ultra.

More often some webpages will not size correctly with my screen and is cut off so I have to switch to chrome.

For example, only 80% of this webpage is displayed. https://www.unsw.edu.au/newsroom/news/2024/04/pfas-forever-chemicals-above-drinking-water-guidelines-in-global-source-water

Is this a bug?

Thanks.

I am experiencing an issue where the Firefox browser on my Xiaomi Redmi 13C device running the HyperOS Android 14 operating system is consuming a very high amount of system resources, particularly CPU and RAM. This is causing my device to heat up significantly and draining the battery life at a faster rate. The specific problems I'm facing are: 1.Firefox requires special permissions and settings to function properly on my Xiaomi Redmi 13C device with HyperOS, such as exempting it from battery restrictions or granting it "autostart" permissions. Without these settings, the app crashes or doesn't work correctly. 2.However, when I grant these special permissions to Firefox, the app then starts consuming an excessive amount of CPU and RAM resources, much more than my other browsers like Chrome or Brave. 3.According to the system monitor, the Firefox processes are consuming the following resources: RAM 372M, CPU 39.0% Process "org.mozilla.firefox:tab12" RAM 742M , CPU 20.0% Process "org.mozilla.firefox" 4.This high resource consumption by Firefox leads to my Xiaomi Redmi 13C device overheating and the battery draining faster, negatively impacting the overall user experience. I have tried various troubleshooting steps, such as clearing the app's cache and data, using a lighter version of Firefox, and checking for updates, but the issue persists. I would appreciate if the Firefox support team could investigate this problem and provide any guidance or solutions to resolve the high system resource usage on my Xiaomi Redmi 13C device running the HyperOS Android 14 operating system.

I really like this app. I always use it on desktop also but after a few last updates I noticed that battery usage of this app increased a lot and the percentage is very high. 1 hour screen time on youtube was 4% battery usage but on the firefox side it was 17 min / 11% battery usage. If you fix this It will be perfect for me. Here are the screenshots with different days. And I'm using sync feature and ublock addon. I always close the opened apps and I use deep sleep feature on my samsung device. And I forced to close the app. For now I stop using firefox for test purposes.

Firefox just used almost a GB by just opening it! I only typed a Google search, and the next moment my phone tells my I'm out of data!

Note that this is foreground data, not background data. I googled and found answers about media playing in the background, but I haven't watched anything recently, so no streaming link should be active. I installed Ublock origin so I hope that might help.

Attach is my Firefox data usage for the past week of barely using it, except for an occasional Google search.

there are often times when I go to websites, usually when I'm logging in or signing up for an account, where they have a pop-up window for me to enter in the information, which usually also includes a captcha, but for some reason I am unable to scroll up or down, and I'm unable to access a submit button as well, therefore unable to complete the process.

this is on my Kyocera e6920 AT&t version 6.103at with Android 10 and a updated version of Firefox.

Hey 👋🏼

I have an issue with the Facebook 'recent post' feed: Only two posts were displayed in the 'recent post' feed and then a spinning loading symbol is at the bottom - then nothing else is loading on my OnePlus 12 and Google Pixel 6, Firefox version 126.0.

In Microsoft Edge it is working, all posts are loaded correctly, so it seems to be a browser issue.

Does anyone have the same problem? Is there a solution?

It's the same problem as here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1420806

The Salt Lake Tribune apparently uses tinypass.com as part of its reader access to their e-edition. This morning the access was not functioning. Tribune staff says one "must use Chrome or Google" not Firefox. This is from my Samsung phone. I'll have to check whether the Win10 desktop has the problem.
